India is perhaps the only country in the world where teachers are not only worshiped as Gods but also considered as the true friend, philosopher, and guide. Keeping this thought in mind, the students of the Aditya Birla Public School Bhubaneswar left no stone unturned to make the Teacher’s Day celebration a grand event.
Started with a beautiful morning assembly, the whole school engulfed into the real celebration of different assembly. The senior Adityans took over the responsibility of entire school administration and the academics. The pupil Principal addressed the assembly in a lofty way which was followed by the address of the Principal Mr. L. N Dash where he paid his homage to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan and reminded the values that teachers radiate through their characters.
Later the students and teachers proceeded to a friendly cricket match at the school sports complex and ground. The pupil teachers taught in different classes and played the role of their admiration with full of enthusiasm.
A grand celebration was organized at the AV hall of the school where students showed their reverence to their respected Teachers through a series of programmes. Guru Parshuram Das, an internationally acclaimed flute player graced the occasion as the chief guest. Under the guidance and teaching of his Guru Pandit Mohini Mohan Pattanaik, Mr. Parshuram completed his masters in Hindustani Flute from the Utkal Sangeeta (Music) University and became a professional artist. He regularly performs around the world, mostly playing with singers and dancers. He is also a visiting faculty with Pandit Shri Hariprasad Chaurasia’s Vrindaban Gurukul in Bhubaneswar and a teacher at Odisha Music & Dance University.He has received countless prestigious awards in India and abroad.
In his welcome address, the Principal Mr. L. N. Dash talked about different achievements of Guru Parshuram Das and how he contributed to spread the very essence of Indian culture across the globe. Citing the guidance of Padma Bhushan Smt. Rajashree Birla, Chairperson- Aditya Birla CSR Centre for Excellence and Dr. S. Ganguli, Group Adviser-Education, he appreciated the efforts of the teachers and the students and inspired all to move forward in their way of life. Guru Parshuram, in his address, paid tribute to his Mentor and Guru Mohini Mohan and congratulated the teachers of ABPS Bhubaneswar for choosing a graceful profession. He also praised little Adityans for showing their respect to their teachers. He blessed the children with his powerful melody of flute.
The programme was well coordinated by the Vice Principal Mr. Chandresh Shah and the Admin Officer Mr. N Sahu, and Activity in charges Mr. Ananda Mukherjee and Ms. Rituparna Chatterjee as well as a team of dedicated teachers. Ms. Anandita Maitra, the English teacher proposed the vote of thanks by referring to the core values of Aditya Birla Group of Schools.
