Genetickle: Decoding Life
‘Genetickle: Decoding Life’ sponsored by the Royal Society of Biology, United Kingdom
The Aditya Birla Public School, Bhubaneswar is deeply committed to give exposure to its students well beyond the confines of the classroom. Sai Panchanan Biswal, Arjun Mittal and Md. Mujeebur Rehman, students of class 10 were shortlisted to participate in Genetickle: Decoding Life, an online event and an initiative sponsored by the Royal Society of Biology, United Kingdom and supported by the Indian National Young Academy of Sciences (INYAS) and Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
“Genetickle- Decoding Life” was scheduled on Saturday, November 6, 2021 between 09:00 am and 12:30 pm where two keynote speakers, Dr. Praphulla Chandra Shukla and Dr. Rashmi Sinha engaged the participants in a webinar and shared insights into the Basics of Genetics and the Applications of Genetics and the advances in the field of Genetic Engineering.
The webinar was followed by an Online Inter School Quiz with several participating schools from Kharagpur, Kalaikunda, West Bengal and Bhubaneswar, Odisha. The online quiz had several rounds with the least scoring team getting subsequently eliminated in successive rounds. ABPS, Bhubaneswar made a mark by securing third place in the competition.
