National Handloom Day

Handloom sector depicts India’s glorious socio-economic and cultural background. This indigenous way of making clothes had a direct connection with ‘Swadeshi Movement’, when people started using Handloom dresses to support India’s domestic products and productions. In order to commemorate that very movement and to honor the weavers across the country the Government has decided to observe National Handloom Day on August 7. Little Adityans of UKG have understood the importance of the day and engaged themselves in drawing, dressing themselves, weaving the threads. They have also appealed everyone to wear using handloom made face masks in this pandemic.
