World Music Day

“My idea is that there is music in the air, music all around us; the world is full of it, and you simply take as much as you require.”
– Edward Elgar

World Music Day was founded by Minister of Culture, Jack Lang and Maurice Fleuret, a French composer and music journalist on the day of the summer solstice in Paris in 1982. It is an annual celebration observed on 21st June wherein amateur and professional musicians are encouraged to showcase their talent.

World Music Day is celebrated by more than 120 countries by organizing free public concerts in parks, streets, stations, museums and other public places.

On this occasion, the students showcased their love for music by creatively designing musical instruments with easily available resources and those with the flair for music attempted to compose and celebrate Music.
